As we entered our 37th year of providing consumers reports and services to millions of Americans, we found the battle with hackers and spam artists to be a daily event. Each day our server was hit hundreds of times attempting to break through to our consumer files. Thankfully we have remained faithful, strong and diligent in our efforts to protect and serve those that trust us with their search requests and family profiles. This along with the fact we do NOT maintain client and LostMoney member data online has served to keep everyone protected.
That said, the hackers did get through in December our former hosting company and maliciously attack our website code…. so here we are building an enhanced and better protected online presence on our new servers with multiple locations.
So for the next month or so, please excuse our PLAIN JANE appearance here. It’s not what we look like on the outside, it’s the powerful tools and resources we have on the inside that as allowed us to help consumers locate and recover over $2.4 billion in lost money and unclaimed property over the past 15 years alone.
